Spring Revival + Specialty Skincare

As winter's grasp begins to wane and the vernal season beckons to rouse from a dreaming slumber, we too can feel the energy of spring stirring and shifting within us. This is a time of renewal and rebirth, a time to shed the heaviness of the season of inward reflection, and step into the lightness of spring. Just as nature begins to unfurl, we too find our bodies awakening in anticipation, anchoring our roots and outstretching towards the sun. The winter months can be harsh on our skin, leaving it in need of some very serious tender care. With the right potions and revitalizing rituals, we can shed the dryness and dullness of our winters skin and reawaken a radiant veil, naturally. With this in mind, we have heavily focused our restock efforts this month on our specialty skincare products.

A note about our Specialty Products…

We understand that skincare is a personal journey. If you’ve tried our potions before you know they have a special sort of feel. We continue to develop an array of specialty skincare products that support your skin through seasonal shifts and cater to specific skin concerns with targeted solutions that enhance the health and beauty of your skin and encase the magic of your routine. Infused with slow gathered, seasonal ingredients, our products are thoughtfully selected to work harmoniously with one another, creating gentle yet effective formulas that work in tandem to deliver optimal results.

What defines a specialty product for us?

Our specialty products include skin care + body care that are created in small batches, limited editions, and are sometimes not available year-round due to the nature of the ingredients and processes we use. This ensures that we can stay true to our commitment to using only the freshest, highest quality ingredients that are in tune with seasonal rhythms and are respectfully harvested when abundant in nature. Our thoughtful and methodical approach to crafting our specialty products ensures that you receive the best possible formulations with respect to the environment, the natural rhythms of the seasons, and the ebb and flow of inspiration that fuels our creative process and informs our products.

Shifting Skin…

Our skin often requires a little extra care to transition from the cold, dry winter weather to the warmer, more humid climate of spring. Products offering exfoliation, hydration, reparative actions and barrier support can be very helpful. Gradually introduce different products into your routine as needed to support these seasonal shifts.

Exfoliation

Winter can leave our skin feeling rough and uneven, so using a gentle exfoliating can help to remove dead skin cells and reveal a brighter, more radiant complexion. You want to use a product that contains natural wash-off exfoliants like jojobas beads or botanical grain mask, or a leave on product with alpha hydroxy acids (AHAs) like glycolic acid, which can help to smooth and refine the skin's texture.

MAIN CONCERN ~ Uneven Skin Tone + Texture

CHOOSE ME: Ghost Serpent Exfoliating Night Elixir

A powerful nighttime exfoliating potion. Rather than a physical scrub that only buffs away surface flakiness, this potions works its translucent tendrils deep into the pores, unveiling its mycelial magic under celestial sky dreams.  A few drops weekly will support the clearing of congestion, improve the skins natural moisture factor and stimulate collagen production for a radiance boosting night ritual.

MAIN CONCERN ~ Sensitive, Acne Prone and Dry Skin

CHOOSE ME: Woodland Face Food

Made with healing mushrooms rich in anti-inflammatory, skin barrier supporting polysaccharides, minerals, vitamins and enzymes. This can be used as an exfoliant scrub or a mask and is gentle enough for all skin types.

Hydration

Hydration is key to maintaining healthy, glowing skin. During the winter months, our skin can become dry and dehydrated due to the cold weather and indoor heating. As the weather starts to warm up, our skin needs more moisture to stay supple and hydrated. Look for skincare products that are rich in nourishing and reparative ingredients like ceramides or hyaluronic acid, a humectant which can hold up to 1,000 times its weight in water, antioxidants which help boost collagen production, reduce inflammation and protect against sun damage, and fatty acids like shea butter or jojoba oil which are deeply moisturizing, softening and support in preventing trans epidermal water loss. Incorporating these ingredients into your skincare routine can help to keep your skin looking and feeling healthy and radiant.

Other Self Care practices to support the seasonal transition

Caring for our skin is certainly important, but it is just one piece of the puzzle. During seasonal transitions it is important to practice self care, and turning your focus toward inward healing as well. Taking a warm bath, reading a book, or spending time in nature can all contribute to reducing stress and supporting our overall health and well-being. Nutritive infusions of herbs such as nettle and dandelion can be especially beneficial internal support. Nettle is abundant in vitamins and minerals, which can boost our immune system, reduce inflammation, and support healthy digestion. Dandelion acts as a natural diuretic, which can flush out toxins and excess fluids from our bodies. Prioritizing seasonal eating, staying hydrated, getting adequate sleep and soaking up natural vitamin D from the sun when you can, are all simple yet effective measures we can adopt to reduce stress on our bodies.
